The Art of Therapeutic Communication The Collected Works of Kay Thompson

Kay Thompson, one of the great hypnotherapists of the 20th century, was renowned for her linguistic brilliance, as an international teacher of hypnosis, and as one of the most gifted students of the legendary psychotherapist, Milton Erickson. Her unique abilities with the language of hypnosis entranced listeners throughout the world.
In many ways, Kay Thompson was a pioneer; her contributions are among the underpinnings of contemporary clinical hypnosis and are important resources for modern psychotherapy. Her teachings are presented in this book both directly, with explanation and example, and indirectly, woven throughout her workshops and lectures in stories, clinical vignettes, metaphors, and demonstrations. Unique to this volume is an accompanying audio CD with recordings of some of her most memorable teaching sessions.
This is the first time that Thompson’s teaching legacy, both published and oral, has been collected for publication. Most of the material in this volume, including transcriptions of her original lectures and workshops, has never before been available in print. Commentaries from some of the field’s most eminent therapists, including Bernhard Trenkle, Camillo Loriedo, Sidney Rosen, Ronald Havens, Roxanna Erickson Klein and Betty Alice Erickson provide interesting and insightful perspectives on Thompson’s work.
